Mostly people use toothpaste to treat acne immediately. Does toothpaste treat acne is the common question people ask and most of time people agree to it. It is said that toothpaste contains triclosan that helps in reducing the swelling of your pimples.
In other cases people recommend to use garlic and a hot spoon to treat acne. Nobody thinks of the reason behind these remedies and why is it said that it can cure acne. Before using any home remedy you should be sure about the side effects and advantages both.
Using toothpaste can also harm your skin as the triclosan present in your toothpaste can burn your acne and also irritate your skin. Using toothpaste for acne can leave marks on your face that will not happen when you use other lotions prescribed by the dermatologists.
Acne scars can generally fade away on its own without any treatment but, using toothpaste can leave permanent marks on your skin. The basic remedy that you can use to reduce the swelling of your acne is put ice cubes. Using ice cubes can cool down and reduce the size of your acne.
You should not squeeze the pimples as squeezing can lead to spread of inflammation both inside and outside the skin surface. Squeezing generally results in increasing the size of acne. Antibiotics prescribed by your dermatologists can also reduce the size of the pimple to 50 % in 24 hours.
In few cases you can ask your dermatologist to give you a shot directly in to your pimple that will reduce the size of the pimples and makes it disappear within 24 hours. You can also use laser treatment for acne in cases when acne treatment at home is not possible. You can use the scientific way to cure your acne, but make sure that should not damage your skin.
