Tip 1: Consulting a Doctor

It is better to see a doctor if you experience constipation for more than three weeks or if your constipation is severe or if your constipation is associated with bloody along with weight loss, fever, and weakness.

Tip 2: Eat More Fiber

Recommended fiber quantity is 25-35 grams. It is very important to have well-balanced diet including whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Foods that are rich in fiber and nutrients include high fiber oat meal, prunes, dates, beans, apples, brussel sprouts, broccoli, spinach and almonds.

Tip 3: Drinking Lot of Fluids

Drinking lots of fluids helps you to go to bathroom frequently. But, make sure that the fluids you intake should not be high in sugar.

Tip 4: Regular Exercise

Exercise can help prevent constipation. Regular exercise such as walking for at least 30 minutes a day can work best for treating constipation problems.

Tip 5: Fiber Supplements

If you are meeting recommended levels of fiber and still if you are facing the same problem, then it is better to take fiber supplements.
