Labia are lips of the vaginal area. There are two types of labia present in the female genital area – Labia Minora and Labia Majora.

These are also known as inner lips and outer lips. Sometimes labia minora or labia majora or both are disproportionately big or not very good looking in some of the females and this may lead to discomfort or pain during intercourse. Due to this reason, some women undergo labiaplasty surgery to reshape labia. Some women feel pain during intercourse, which can be treated with this surgery. Sometimes after normal delivery, these parts gets heavily damaged and thus such surgeries are preferred to repair the lips.

How is it Done?

Labiaplasty has two components, labia minora reduction and labia majora reduction. Labia minora reduction surgery is done to reduce the inner lips of the vaginal opening when these lips are disproportionately big or discomforting. Similarly, labia majora surgery is done to reduce the outer lips of the vaginal opening when these lips are big and not very good looking.

The procedure can have adverse effects if not carried out by experienced and well skilled surgeons.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
