Heart diseases are a dangerous side effect of the fast paced, unhealthy life style. There has been a major rise in cases of heart diseases among women and therefore, it is imperative to reduce the risk at younger age.

Diet plays an important part in reducing the risk. A diet, low in animal fat, more nutrients and less oil including fruits and vegetable works wonders. At 20, one should be aware of their cholesterol levels. Smoking must be avoided at all cost. Even a single cigarette a week can affect reproductive hormones.

Women who use birth control pills should get regular STD tests. Yearly blood pressure tests helps in avoiding heart problems. Consult physician to know about your weight and BMI to maintain it in normal range. Diabetes is a major risk factor in causing heart diseases.

Take regular tests and treat diabetes. Working out regularly has a magical affect in circulation of oxygen in your body.
