The causes for rectal bleeding are various and it is mostly attributed to piles. The general tendency of patients is to ignore the issue thinking it might be caused by constipation.

The most common causes of rectal bleeding or bleeding while passing stool are piles or fissures.

The above mentioned diseases are benign (not harmful in effect) and are classified into various stages. Each different stage of such diseases requires different treatment. Hence, it is highly crucial that correct diagnosis is done in order to get the correct treatment.

Few diseases associated with rectal bleeding:

  • Tumours
  • Ulcers
  • Cancer

The above mentioned conditions may lead to near fatal situations if ignored. Proper diagnosis at early stages of any disease is vital to avoid such complicated adverse situations.

Other reasons for rectal bleeding:

Use of various medicines like aspirins may also be a cause of rectal bleeding. Correct management of medications and their side effects is required to ensure proper treatment.

It is to be noted that if a disease is diagnosed at an early stage, simple medications and minimum procedures are required to cure it. Thus, it is very important to examine the patient and make a proper diagnosis at the very onset of the symptom.
