Pregnancy is a crucial stage when the mother experiences various types of pain. Pelvic pain is very common during pregnancy. Frequent pain after 10 minutes, 15 minutes or 45 minutes in the lower abdomen is observed. This kind of pain is usually observed before the periods, but the pregnant women complain about this pain. In few cases vaginal muscle pain is also seen where the stretching and pulling feeling will be there. This kind of pain is generally an indication and preparation of the body for normal delivery. If the pain is for a shorter duration and inconsistent, then it can be ignored and no medical assistance is required in such cases.

If the pain is continuous with more intensity and increased frequency then it is referred to as labor pain. In such conditions you need to contact your doctor and take medical assistance at the earliest. The Braxton hick contractions also called as prodromal labor is the painless tightening of the uterus is usually accompanied with pain that will turn into a labor pain. This kind of pain will be continuous on a regular basis like once in 10 minutes or once in 15 minutes. In few cases the pain can occur twice in 10 minutes as well and the intensity keeps on increasing from mild to moderate and then to higher.
