Ideal weight gain during pregnancy can be 6 to 11 kg.

Most pregnant women think that they are eating for two but the fact is they are eating for one. They need to eat healthy and balanced diet to maintain their weight because it is not easy to lose weight after pregnancy.

After delivery, fat will get deposited around tummy, breast, thigh, hip, which is difficult to lose. We will not recommend crash diet after conceiving because once the woman is lactating, she needs good amount of vitamins and minerals. This is because baby needs 600-900 ml of milk each day.

So, women need to take diet consisting of cereals, proteins, vegetables, pulse, fruits, calcium, and yogurt has to be given. In addition to this, iron and calcium supplements should be continued.

In order to lose weight, they can do abdominal exercises by lifting their legs, walking and take well balanced diet. But you should not overeat and should not have excess oily foods.
