Viral hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver and caused due to a virus. The five most known types of hepatitis viruses are Hepatitis A, B, C, D and E. Blood test is the only way to diagnose them and identify the type.
Hepatitis A is excreted in Human Faeces and contracted orally through physical contact by eating raw or undercooked food or drinking contaminated water.
Hepatitis E is also transmitted through the digestive system and heals on its own. It is mainly found occurring in India and can be fatal to pregnant women. Both these heal on their own but you must wash your hands thoroughly many times a day and avoid anal sexual contact. Avoid drinking open water but you can also have a vaccine to prevent this condition.
Hepatitis B occurs due to unprotected sexual intercourse with an infected partner, sharing contaminated needles or contact with contaminated blood or bodily fluids. Hepatitis C is transmitted blood by sharing contaminated needles, piercing, tattooing etc. Hepatitis D on the other hand is also transmitted the same way as Hepatitis B but it also develops only in the presence of Hepatitis B. One can take medications for Hepatitis B.
