Stomach cancer usually occurs when the cells in the stomach lining grow uncontrollably to form a mass of cells called tumor. Stomach cancer is also called as gastric cancer. In most of the cases the symptoms of gastric cancer are not visible and do not appear in initial stages thus, makes it difficult to diagnose.

Stomach cancer usually occurs when the healthy cells within the upper digestive system becomes cancerous and grows uncontrollably. The process of development of cancer is very slow and it takes years to develop.
