Often it is seen that strong medications are not really needed and few lifestyle modifications can reduce the acidic refluxes. Thus, if you are facing it regularly, then it is better to bring changes in dietary regime and also lifestyle habits, such as, quitting smoking, avoiding all types of alcohol and coffee etc.

The medicines like antacids that are available over the counter can also be helpful for the chronic acid reflux. However, if you experience these heartburns more than two times a week or so, then only these modifications will not solve the problem. This is the time you should go for a medical evaluation.

The primary acid lowering drugs are known to lower the acid in the body by shutting down the pumps in the stomach that produce acid. But in cases where the patients show breakthrough symptoms, that is where things are beyond the control of medication alone, due to long term usage of drugs, among other things, there is a new procedure whereby the valve is strengthened. If you are facing frequent heartburns, it is better to visit a specialist and get the right diagnosis in order to get rid of this problem.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
