Home remedies for cold

Remedy 1: Salt Water Rinsing

  • Mix 3 spoons of iodide-free salt with 1 spoon of baking soda
  • Add 1 spoon of this mixture to 8 ounces of lukewarm boiled water
  • Fill a bulb syringe with this solution
  • Hold one nostril closed by applying light finger pressure
  • Gently, squirt the salt water into your other nostril

Remedy 2: Garlic

  • Boil 4-5 chopped garlic cloves in water
  • Add 1 spoon of honey
  • Drink thrice a day

Remedy 3: Spice tea

  • Roast & grind ¼ tsp coriander seeds, ½ tsp cumin, 1\2 tsp fennel seeds& ¼ tsp fenugreek seeds
  • Boil a cup of water
  • Add 1 ½ spoon of the spice powder with 1 ½ spoon of misri
  • Boil the mixture on a slow flame for 3-4 min
  • Add 2 spoons of milk
  • Boil and then strain
  • Drink once a day

Remedy 4: Ginger (Works well for running nose)

  • Ingredients:
    • Dry ginger powder,
    • Clarified butter
    • Jaggery
  • Mix these 3 ingredients in equal proportion
  • Consume it daily on an empty stomach

Remedy 5: Red onion syrup

  • Slice 2-3 red onions horizontally
  • Place 1 onion slice in a dish & add raw honey
  • Repeat until the bowl is full
  • Cover the bowl & leave this for 12 to 15 hours
  • A thick liquid floats as a result
  • Drink 1 spoon of this syrup several times a day
  • Repeat till you see results
