Can Fever Really Harm the Baby When Pregnant?

Well, there are several scenarios within this which will determine if the fever will affect the fetus or not. So if it is a normal viral fever then the fever itself may not cause harm to the baby since the body has immunity against viruses especially if it is for a small duration.

But there are plenty of powerful viruses which can affect the body and  pass through the baby through the placenta. In such cases, the baby can develop congenital defects and the baby can also develop some kinds of deficiencies. In some rare situations, there can be loss of pregnancy as well.

You must try to take paracetamol for the first 2-3 days of fever and wait for it to subside but even then if it is not cured then it is a good idea to go to the doctor and get consultation from the doctor.
