An Ayurvedic Approach to Deal with Hypothyroidism

Hypothyroidism is a deficiency of thyroid hormone and is also among the most common thyroid problems in western countries. Some of its most common symptoms include fatigue, dry skin, hair loss, gaining weight easily and finding it hard to lose it etc.

If you have any of these symptoms then you must visit the doctor to get the thyroid levels tested.  You might want to get your two thyroid hormones tested which are T3 and T4 as in case of low thyroid, the count of these hormones goes low.

The best natural approach to treating low thyroid problem is to support the body by providing  both T3 and T4 hormones in combination with prescription thyroid. This is so because thyroid functions properly when it has all nutrients present with it and some of them include iodide, amino acids and selenium which is needed to convert T4 to T3.

Some good iodide sources are seaweeds, ionic trace minerals and others. So you must concentrate on getting such foods in your diet on a regular basis. Seaweeds are rich in all nutrients including iodide whereas ionic trace minerals are used to support hydration as well.
