Ankle Pain without Swelling and Bruising – Causes

Many people have reported pain in their ankles but there hasn’t been any kind of swelling or bruising in the area. There can be many reasons behind the ankle pain without any swelling or bruising and some of the common ones are mentioned below:

  • The most common cause of ankle pain without any swelling or bruising is gout. Gout is a disease which happens due to the excess of uric acid in the body and it causes pain in the ankles of the patient.
  • Severe ankle pain can also happen due to Rheumatoid Arthritis and it shows no sign of swelling or bruising in the area.
  • Post-traumatic arthritis is one of the reasons behind pain in the ankle region. In this case as well there’s no sign of swelling or bruising near the ankles.
  • Any form of Osteoarthritis can also be the disease which causes pain in the ankles, without showing any signs of swelling and bruising.

These above-mentioned diseases can be a reason behind acute ankle pain and they won’t show any kind of signs of swelling or bruising. In any of the above mentioned conditions, consult a doctor.
